Certifications & external reviews
ABS Certified Maritime Training (CMT)
Maritime training delivered by Orion University holds ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Training Certification. This is an independent third-party review of training providers—covering course development, content, delivery, instructor qualifications, and quality management.
Academic standards & credit model (ECTS-style)
Programs are structured using ECTS-style credit and workload norms to help learners understand study effort and progression. Using the ECTS model does not imply state accreditation; it is a transparent framework for course design and student workload planning.
- Typical module size and total credits are stated on each program page.
- Learning outcomes, assessment methods, and grading criteria are published in module descriptors.
Governance & quality assurance
Quality is overseen by academic governance structures and documented processes:
- Program design & review: periodic curriculum review with external input from experienced industry experts/academics.

- Instructor standards: subject expertise and teaching competence verified; ongoing professional development.
- Student feedback loop: unit evaluations and advisory panels feed continuous improvement.
Policies: admissions, assessment, complaints/appeals, academic integrity, data protection (linked documents).
Physics: industry-oriented & R&D-ready
The Physics Department was created in response to fast-moving industry needs. Programs are designed and taught by industry-experienced physicists, with emphasis on applied physics methods (simulation, applied quantum mechanics, nanotechnology, instrumentation, signal processing, embedded/FPGA). Physics degrees are institutional (not state-accredited).
Academic freedom & open discourse
Orion University supports free inquiry, evidence-based debate, and respectful speech. Classrooms and forums are moderated for professional conduct while encouraging rigorous discussion, critique of ideas, and open exchange across cultures and viewpoints.
